Fire in the scrubland and pine forests around Gallargues-le-Montueux
An orange solar disk and a sudden penumbra announced the start of this gigantic fire which started around 3 p.m. on July 31, 2022.
Around 3:30 p.m. 2 very loud detonations were heard.
Around the ""pont béquille" crossing the highway, you could observe the huge plume of dark smoke rising into the blue sky.
Around 4 p.m. the wind died down and the fire seemed a little less violent. But it was only temporary because even without wind the flames arrived near the village, as you can see on the video and the canadairs made many passages.On the morning of August 1, the fire engines were still circulating in the small roads to monitor the recoveries. The road to Aubais was blocked by the gendarmerie
