Trade and industry on the old Chemin d'Aubais à Gallargues
This lime kiln located on the old chemin d'Aubais à Gallargues was used to obtain quicklime by cooking, without oxygen, the pieces of limestone, or cooking the clay tiles. The lime was transported by cart to Gallargues and the neighboring villages. From time to time, on the way to Aubais, you can see the imprint left by the metal rimmed wheels on the outcrops of the bedrock.
This building was built on the limestone rock in the rules of the art, the old vault, the oven and the height of the houses indicates a lot of skills.

Note: As with all old abandoned constructions: must be visited with a little caution. Take the opportunity to observe the surrounding nature with respect.
